It’s hard to believe the members of the 27th class of Kiva Fellow volunteers are currently making their way by train, plane and boat to their placements for the next 4 months. Our fellows program started in 2007 and has grown from humble beginnings to a formidable operation that provides Kiva staff with critical connections to our field partners and borrowers around the world.
Last week, 28 fellows from 9 different countries joined us at our headquarters in San Francisco to meet each other, meet the staff and learn as much as humanly possible about Kiva and their upcoming fellowships. It’s difficult to fully capture the organized chaos we live in each Fellows Week, full to the brim with energy and possibility, but the photos below may give you a good idea.
If you’re interested in following what KF27 is up to be sure to check out the #KF27 tag on Instagram and Twitter or read our fellows blog.
The fellows break into small groups headed by members of our partnerships team, who work closely with fellows while they’re in the field.
Kiva Zip’s new fellows get acquainted with the Kiva Zip team.
For many fellows this is their first time visiting San Francisco! After a day of workshops they unwind with a ride on San Francisco’s historic cable cars.
No one can escape the big, red ball! Fellows pass the ball and answer questions in one of their final training exercises.
Good luck, KF27! We can’t wait to hear about all your adventures!
