As the Senior Field Support Specialist for Anglophone and Lusophone Africa, Mac Parish works closely with Kiva partners to develop sustainable relationships and processes in the region, and also serves an advocate for partner needs to Kiva Headquarters. Prior to joining Kiva as an FSS, Mac interned at Kiva with the Kiva Fellows Program. He graduated in June 2010 from Stanford University with a BA in Anthropological Sciences and an MA in Latin American Studies. Before beginning at Kiva, he conducted research in Costa Rica analyzing the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of ecotourism, and interned at an environmental nonprofit law firm where he focused on international environmental policy in Latin America. He is originally from San Francisco, and is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese. He is now trying to learn Kiswahili. Having spent much of his career focusing on Latin America, Mac is fascinated every day by all that he learns in his new home of Nairobi, Kenya.
