A loan helped to buy anchovies for production.

Nga's story

Mrs. Nga is 34 years old and lives with her family in a poor coastal village in Nghi Sơn Town. The local economy relies mostly on small trade and traditional fish sauce production. She has three school-aged children who are financially dependent on her.

Mrs. Nga and her husband have operated a small-scale traditional fish sauce workshop at home for over five years, using raw materials sourced from their local sea. Her husband, with extensive experience in the craft, is responsible for transporting their fish sauce to wholesale markets and local agents. He also joins fishing trips offshore to support the family's income. Their products are known for high quality and competitive pricing, earning trust from both individual customers and traders.

Despite their reputation, a lack of working capital remains a major challenge to expanding the business. Mrs. Nga is now applying for her first loan from Thanh Hóa MFI to purchase anchovies for production. After a fermentation period of 18 months, the first batch of fish sauce will be ready for market. She hopes this will help increase brand awareness and attract more loyal customers. In the future, Mrs. Nga wishes for good health, family happiness, and a thriving business so she can invest in better tools and equipment for production.
