Thazin Wai's story

Thazin Wai has been selected for her leadership potential and desire to be a change-maker in her community. This is her story: "Pursuing this master’s degree is an important step toward my dream of becoming a teacher who can equip students with a wide range of knowledge and skills. I believe students should be supported in a space where they feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential. This education also brings me closer to my long-term plan: working with children from marginalized backgrounds, especially in regions where quality education is limited or out of reach.

I believe women who are able to complete their education on their own terms are also able to take control of their future, make decisions, contribute to the community, and bring the opportunities to fellow women. Education helps women to expand their horizons exceeding the social or stereotypical boundaries. After graduation, I plan to join communities that are doing educational welfare for their children from areas where education is disrupted for a variety of reasons, especially from border regions."
