A loan helped to buy bags of peanuts for her business.

Meleane's story

Meleane is a widowed mother of three. They live together in their own house. When her husband passed away she had a hard time because she has to do everything in order to provide for her family for them to survive and to educate them for a better future.

She still manages to operate her food marketing business. Her husband was a farmer who grew crops, peanuts and vegetables. Then Meleane took part by selling in their own stall in the front yard of their house.

For the time being she will not be able to grow crops in their field. She decided to buy bags of peanuts and crops from someone else then resell them to the local people in her own stall.

She earns a good income from this type of business, and she loves it because this is the only income for her family. With this loan, Meleane will be able to buy more crops and bags of peanuts to continue to operate this business in the future and not fail.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
