A loan helped to buy seeds, organic compost, and fertilizer for growing beans and prepare the land for farming.

Aura Idia's story

Aura is a 46-year-old hardworking woman who lives with her family in the city of Mira, in the community of Hato de Chamanal. The residents of this area are from Afro-Ecuadorian descent and make a living from agriculture and working with livestock.

Aura works farming short cycle crops such as bean, pepper, bell pepper, and other vegetables. She has experience because, from an early age, her father taught her how to work the land and earn a living to contribute to the household expenses.

Aura requests a loan to buy seeds, organic compost, and fertilizer for growing beans, and prepare the land to continue farming vegetables. He wants to keep the crops in optimal conditions to generate a good production he can sell at a competitive price in the market.

Aura is grateful for the trust and help Kiva gives her to improve her income and support her family.
