A loan helped a member to maintain her farm plot with pruning, clearing with a machete, and fertilizing.

Canayre Group's story

The Canayre communal bank is made up of seven members in their twenty-fourth loan cycle. Because of the pandemic, only the board of directors is in the photo: the president, the secretary, and the treasurer.

Hilda's the treasurer of the communal bank. She's 52 years old and has two children. Her husband also works in agriculture. She's a responsible and fair person who wants to get ahead for her family.

She has had her cacao business for 10 years. That's why her biggest challenge is pests and improving her price, because they're not constant. At the same time, her big dream is to have more farmland and, in the future, buy a little car to transport her merchandise.

Besides this business, her other source of income is her store for beverages and other products.

She'll use the Kiva loan to maintain her farm plot with pruning, clearing with a machete, and fertilizing, and with the extra earnings invest in her children's education and increase the merchandise in her store.

In this group: Hilda, Juvenal, Elva, Cerafina, Fortunita, Felicitas, Frank Junior
